Infinite Roads Counseling and Consulting provides compassionate counseling for individuals who care for and serve others, as well as their families, so they may live authentically, finding healing and balance.
How has the pandemic been treating you? How has it affected you? It's no wonder many are feeling stressed to the max, especially people who serve and care for others. That's you parents, caregivers, clergy/spiritual leaders, first responders, frontline workers, military servicemembers, medical professionals, educators, birth workers, advocates, social justice champions, and social service and mental health professionals.
BUT it's often easy to beat ourselves up and place blame on our shortcomings, over how well, or how not well, we are coping. The self-doubt sneaks up. Here come the "I shoulds" like: "I should be managing better", "I should be able to handle it", "I should be able to do this". And the "I'm nots": "I'm not able", "I'm not good enough", "I'm not... enough". Whether it's your fears holding you back, your job bringing you down, your chaotic and toxic relationships, or your babies and kids (and their COVID school routines) testing the limits of your mental health, I am here for you.
It is not your fault. We live in a world that sometimes boxes us up, in stifling roles which we internalize. We think we have to do it all, and be perfect, too -- and we need not. Our culture lays the groundwork for burnout, compassion fatigue. It is the system that is broken, not you.
That doesn't mean you are helpless, though. You have will. You DO have the responsibility of working through the challenges, if you want to live your life, becoming who you are meant to be -- and with balance -- not at the expense of your wellbeing. We need to fill our tank first, put on our own oxygen masks first, especially when we care for and serve others, whether in our own homes or our communities.
You know the old Robert Frost adage "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference."?
What about "Infinite roads to take, and I-- I have the grit and power to choose or create ANY life path I desire!"
